  • Brian is a former cable/satellite analyst and entertainment / media banker who’s been in an applied economist’s role inside a media agency ( MAGNA Global, a unit of Interpublic ) for the past few years.

Most recently, Brian joined Simulmedia, an ad targeting platform, as their CMO.

    Here's Brian's full brief bio:

Brian Wieser is CMO of Simulmedia, an audience-targeted advertising network for linear television founded by veterans of companies including 24/7 Real Media and Tacoda.  The company is funded by Union Square Ventures, Avalon Ventures and Time Warner.

Until early 2011, Brian was an Executive Vice President at Interpublic’s MAGNAGLOBAL, where he was Global Director of Forecasting.  In that role he was described by trade press as “Madison Avenue’s de facto Chief Economist”, one of a handful of primary sources for estimating the size and trajectory of the global advertising economy.   Prior to Interpublic, Brian worked as a sell-side equity research analyst covering the cable and satellite industries for Deutsche Bank, and also worked as an investment banker in Lehman Brothers’ Communications and Media Group.

Brian is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, and is a graduate of the MBA program at the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey School of Business as well as a graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business.
