At Xerox PARC, Alan Kay prototyped and sharpened ideas that had begun with Doug Engelbart's Augment/NLS system at SRI, and before that with Vannevar Bush's Memex.
Kay said many memorable things, including "point of view is worth 80 IQ points" and "the best way to predict the future is to invent it."
He is now at HP, having spent the better part of the past 15 years perfecting ideas from the computer language Smalltalk as Squeak and Croquet.
